World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. In some cases this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades by itself.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. While this is generally an excellent thing, it can have some negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Armor items can be upgraded to increase their performance. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the arrows that are circling. The item will be rerolled and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, making it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the more health you'll receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the fountain in question, you can then speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required for each level will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.
You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to unlock perks for your armor. You'll generally want to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to let you get around a few monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed provide the user with an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you select the potions that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once item upgrades has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanics of potions. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item. The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be combined in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in an empty cauldron. This will deplete the potion, and refill the bottle.
There are also lingering potions that are brewed using splash and dragon breath potions. In the same way, a lingering potion effect can be extended by adding redstone. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but is not important such as a trinket. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. In contrast to other upgrades for items, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a new trinket. It can be done by the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same base level as the previous trinket but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets have become not usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they won't be replacing in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players must also take into account their class's preferred statistics. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying new ones.
